Plan Your Session

Pricing & Planning Guide

However you found your way here — a senior year to remember, a growing family, a wedding on the horizon — this little guide puts everything in one place: what each session includes, what it costs, what to expect on the day, and a few simple tips to help you feel ready. No pressure and no fine print. Just the details, so you can decide what feels right.

Every session is photographed on location in natural light, and every one includes full rights to print your images however you like. Camera (unedited) files are available on request.

Prices are per session. Full print rights are always included — the images are yours.

What every session includes

  • A friendly chat beforehand to plan the feel, the location, and the timing.
  • On-location photography in natural light, at an easy, unhurried pace.
  • Hand-edited images delivered in a private online gallery to download and share.
  • Full rights to print your photos — anywhere you like, as often as you like.
  • Camera (unedited) files available on request.
  • An honest, easygoing experience. My goal is that you actually enjoy this.

What to expect, start to finish

  1. Say hello

Reach out through the contact page or give me a call and tell me a little about what you have in mind. I usually reply within a day or two.

  2. Plan it together

We'll settle on a date, a location, and the feeling you're after. Bring your ideas — I'll bring suggestions from shooting around Sussex and Waukesha County.

  3. Session day

We meet on location and make pictures. It's relaxed and unscripted — think of it as a walk with a camera. Family sessions run one to two hours, senior sessions an hour and a half to three.

  4. The edit

I hand-edit your gallery to get the color, light, and mood just right. This is where the images really come to life.

  5. Your gallery

You'll receive a private online gallery of finished images to download, share, and print.

  6. Make it real

Order prints from any lab you like — a few favorites are below — or just ask, and I'm glad to help you choose sizes and pieces.

How to prepare & what to wear

What to wear

  • Coordinate, don't match. Pick two or three colors that sit well together rather than identical outfits.
  • Favor soft, solid tones and simple textures. Tiny busy patterns and big logos tend to distract.
  • Dress for the season and the setting — a little layering photographs beautifully.
  • Seniors: use both outfit changes to show different sides of you — one dressed up, one everyday.
  • Above all, wear what makes you feel like yourself. Comfortable people photograph best.

A few easy tips

  • Golden hour — the hour after sunrise or before sunset — gives the warmest light. We'll aim for it when we can.
  • Little ones do best rested and fed. Snacks and a favorite toy are always welcome.
  • Bring anything meaningful: a letterman jacket, an instrument, an heirloom, the dog. The personal touches make the best frames.
  • Arrive a few minutes early so we can start relaxed, not rushed.
  • If the weather looks iffy, don't worry — we'll talk and, if needed, pick a new date.

Prints & your gallery

Your images are yours to print — that's included with every session. For the richest color and paper, I recommend a professional lab over a drugstore kiosk; the difference is real. The labs I trust:

Higher quality Mpix · Saal Digital · Artifact Uprising
Budget minded Snapfish · Shutterfly

Not sure what to order or how big to go? Just ask — I'm happy to help you plan prints, albums, or wall pieces.
